“Universities are places of education and freedom and that is why they must be safe places for students and teachers. And that is why such situations should not be allowed either at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki or anywhere,” the minister said. “In 2022, security at universities is a top priority. Families can not spend a fortune to educate their children and then the university can not function properly because some people have some extreme and marginal behaviors.”

On the issue of fighting crime, the minister said that there is a reduction of 25% compared to the corresponding four months of 2018 and 2019. He said that the biggest problem is focused on the Attica basin as 30% of the police force is called to face 70 % of crime.
