Taiwan on alert – Says biggest Chinese incursion into its air defense zone to date

An alarm has sounded in Taiwan, as according to what was announced by the Ministry of Defense the China developed 71 warplanes, including 60 fightersduring military exercises this weekend.

Beijing did not specify the number of aircraft mobilized for yesterday’s high schools or the exact location of those high schools.

Data from Taiwan’s Ministry of Defense shows that most of the incursions involved the southwestern tip of the Air Defense Identification Zone (ADIZ).

Some Chinese planes also crossed the “middle line” along the Taiwan Strait.

Numerous countries maintain ADIZs, most notably the US, Canada, South Korea, Japan and China.

These zones do not coincide with the country’s airspace, but include a much wider zone so that the country has more time to identify a potential enemy plane and respond to a possible invasion.
