US President Donald Trump has announced that he has agreed with his Mexican counterpart Claudia Seinbaum to extend the existing trade agreement between their two countries for 90 days and will continue their contacts in time to sign a new agreement. In a post on the Truth Social platform, Trump clarified that the 25% duties for cars exported from Mexico to the US, 50% for steel, aluminum and copper are still valid. 25% are also called Trump’s “Fentanyli duties” that concern all imported products except those covered by the free trade agreement between Canada, the US and Mexico (USMCA).
