Famous chef Nusret Gokce, who became known as Salt Bae because of the way he throws salt on top of food, has gotten involved with the law as he faces a $ 5 million lawsuit, according to the New York Post.
The cook is accused of violating Copyright by an artist from Brooklyn who claims that Turk used his work all over the world “without having previously obtained the required permission from him”.
William Hicks claims that he and his colleague, Josfre Yurato, were hired by Gokce in September 2017 to make a mural of the Turkish restaurant with the movement – his trademark.
According to the federal lawsuit filed in Manhattan last Monday, the work was created for the Salt Bae Steakhouse in Miami while other murals were copied and found in its restaurants in Doha, Dubai and New York.
