Tanker truck catches fire on MG highway; driver burns to death

The driver of a tanker truck burned to death this Tuesday (15) after the vehicle he was driving caught fire. The accident occurred on the BR-135 highway, near the municipality of Augusto de Lima (MG), approximately 250 kilometers from Belo Horizonte.

The Military Highway Police reported that the vehicle was carrying around 30 thousand liters of fuel, including 20 thousand liters of gasoline.

According to the Minas Gerais Fire Department, the accident occurred around 5:30 am. Traffic in the area was completely closed in both directions of the highway and the congestion reached almost 10 kilometers.
