The passista Tati Minerato 36, spoke out on his social networks this Monday (25) about his controversies involving sister, Ana Paula Minerato 33, who was dismissed from Gaviões da Fiel and fired from broadcaster Band after racist statements .
In a statement, he said “First of all, I want to make it clear that I am absolutely against any form of racism or prejudice. These attitudes do not match the values that I carry and that are part of my history.”
The drum queen of Rio’s samba school Estácio de Sá and muse of São Paulo’s Mocidade Alegre commented that her career in samba began at a young age and that she celebrates the black culture valued in these environments.
“Since I was a child, in my family, I was taught the importance of respecting others. My mother, Dona Sílvia, was a central figure in this process, always showing us the value of treating all people with equality and dignity”, she wrote in a Stories.
Tati asked to be freed from the controversies involving her sister and that she regrets the episode in which an audio went viral on social media, credited to Ana Paula Minerato, referring to a black woman as “neguinha” and saying that she has “hard hair”.
“My commitment will always be to building a future where respect, inclusion and equality are non-negotiable values. This is how I live and how I want to continue my journey, both in samba and in all spheres of my life”, concluded the drum queen.
