The performance took place in Laguna Beach, California, the city where Taylor Hawkins grew up.

The band that accompanied Shane Hawkins is called “The Alive”. They made an Instagram post about the show.

“A 4th of July thank you to the Laguna Beach community, the police (for not interrupting us), […] and a special thanks to Shane Hawkins,” the teen band wrote.

Shane Hawkins’ drumming talent has always been a source of pride for his father.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight Canada in 2014the Foo Fighters drummer joked, “My son thinks he’s getting ready to take over my job in about 10-15 years, which is good.”

“So I have a little practice kit set up behind me and it kind of plays along [durante os shows],” added Taylor.

This drum duet has already been noticed by fans at times, such as, for example, in 2012 at the Reading Festival, which takes place in England. See in the video below.

Foo Fighters announce two Taylor tribute shows

Foo Fighters will play two special tribute shows in London and Los Angeles to honor the life of their former drummer, Taylor Hawkins.

“To our dear friend, our bandmate, our beloved brother… Foo Fighters and the Hawkins family bring you the Taylor Hawkins Tribute Concerts,” the band announced.

The shows will take place with the remaining members of the group – Dave Grohl, Nate Mendel, Chris Shiflett, Pat Smear and Rami Jaffee – on September 3 at London’s Wembley Stadium and on September 27 at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles.

The band joined the Hawkins family for the shows.

Hawkins’ wife Alison Hawkins posted a message to fans on her husband’s Instagram account to coincide with the announcement of the tribute shows.

“My deepest thanks and admiration go out to the global Foo Fighters community and Taylor’s fans around the world for the outpouring of love each of you have shown our beloved Taylor. His kindness has been an invaluable comfort to my family and me during this time of unimaginable pain,” the message read in part.

Death at age 50

Hawkins, 50, died on March 25 in Bogotá, Colombia, hours before the Foo Fighters took the stage at the Estereo Picnic Festival.

The band immediately canceled the remaining tour dates.

Hawkins joined the Foo Fighters in 1997, first appearing with the band on the tour in support of their second album, The Color and the Shape.
