Taylor Swift: fans say scalpers bought all tickets and deputy asks for investigation

The rapid sell-out of tickets for “The Eras Tour”, by singer Taylor Swift – the sale lasted less than 50 minutes – generated a wave of revolt on social networks. Fans of the American artist say that scalpers bought the tickets and are even selling them on unofficial websites. According to reports on the networks, scalpers also coerced fans at the box office of the stadiums where the shows will take place.

Faced with the avalanche of complaints from Taylor Swift fans, federal deputy Erika Hilton (PSOL) sent a letter to the Public Ministry regarding the presence and attitudes of money changers during the sale of tickets for the singer’s concerts that will take place in November in Brazil.

“After many requests, I officiated at the Public Prosecutor’s Office of SP for occurrences involving tickets to the Taylor Swift concert. I asked that the scope of the existing investigation be expanded, of the RBD and Eventim concert, to include the Taylor Swift concert and T4F”, he declared.

It is worth remembering that in February of this year, Erika had already filed a letter with the Procon-SP and the Public Ministry of the State of São Paulo, after fans suspected a scheme between scalpers and the Eventim ticket platform during the sales of RBD shows .

wanted by CNN , Tickets for Fun has not yet responded to the situation that has been commented on social media. The MP-SP was also approached and has not yet manifested itself.

Procon, through a note, reported that it also asked for clarification on the problem with ticket sales for the artist’s shows in Brazil.

“Procon-SP is already issuing notifications to the company organizing the concerts of singer Taylor Swift, which will take place in November in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo. According to a preliminary analysis of consumer complaints registered on the website of the consumer protection agency, tickets – which went on sale this Monday, the 12th – would have sold out in a few hours on official channels; however, they would be advertised and sold on unofficial websites at much higher prices”, says the agency’s statement, which guided consumers on what to do in this case.

“It is essential that consumers register their complaints on our website, because they generate notifications for companies to explain their procedures and also help consumer protection bodies, such as Procon-SP, to analyze and study ways to improve relations of consumption, in addition, of course, to support in conflict mediation”, explains Rodrigo Tritapepe, Director of Service and Guidance at Procon-SP.

From the notification, according to Procon, the organizing company has a deadline to present its explanations and, in the relevant cases, adopt measures that solve the problems, according to the rules of the Consumer Protection Code.
