Taylor Swift is studying at New York University

A lesson dedicated exclusively to Taylor Swift added New York University (NYU). Students who enroll to attend the course will deepen the star’s musical heritage through lectures and more.

The course at the Clive Davis Institute in NYU is taught by the American journalist, Brittany Spanos, who traces Taylor Swift’s career from her first recordings in Nashville, Tennessee, to her transformation into a world idol.

The course also examines the legacy of country singers, of whom singer draws inspiration, as well as the evolution of the musical genre and “race politics in contemporary music,” according to Variety.

Students on the waiting list

The program does not specify whether there will be references to the recent struggles of the singer to acquire the rights to her music, according to APE-MPE.

According to Variety A large number of students are currently on the waiting list to attend the course. The university has reportedly invited Taylor Swift as a speaker at a lecture, although her participation has not yet been confirmed.

NYU is not the only educational institution that offers courses dedicated specifically to the study of big names in music. The university The Beatles launched a postgraduate program on the Beatles in October 2021. Students taking the course spend a year exploring the band’s cultural and financial impact in the British city, through seminars and visits to Liverpool locations.
