Taylor Swift joins Jay-Z and Rihanna on Forbes billionaires list

Taylor Swift joined the Forbes billionaires list, the most recent edition of which was released this Tuesday (2). The North American singer has a net worth of US$1.1 billion, which is equivalent to approximately R$5.5 billion.

She joins Jay-Z and Rihanna, who complete the select group of singers who appear on the list. According to Forbes, the owner of Fenty Beauty has a fortune of US$1.4 billion (around R$7 billion) and Beyoncé's husband has a fortune of US$2.5 billion (around R$13 billion.

The North American magazine indicates that it was “The Eras Tour” that catapulted Taylor Swift to the position of billionaire, reached by her in October 2023. The tour surpassed the US$1 billion mark (around US$5 billion) in collection and became the most profitable in history, according to the Guinness Book.

The amount broke the record set by Elton John's five-year farewell tour, which ended earlier this year, grossing US$939 million (about R$4.56 billion) from 328 shows.

“The Eras Tour” marked the first time that Taylor Swift came to Brazil to perform. She performed three times in Rio de Janeiro, at the Nilton Santos Olympic Stadium, and another three times in São Paulo, at Allianz Parque.

Rihanna's fortune, according to Forbes, was raised with profits from her cosmetics and makeup company. This is the third year for the Barbadian singer on the list. Jay-Z, in turn, debuted on the list in 2019 and more than doubled his fortune thanks to his alcoholic beverage brand, D'USSÉ.
