The singer Taylor Swift 35, surprised patients and staff at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, in the US state of Missouri, on Thursday (12). The voice of Shake It Off, who turns 35 this Friday (13), took photos with the children and hospital staff, as well as distributing gifts.
One of the hospital’s nurses shared a photo of Taylor smiling alongside staff and captioned the post on Instagram: “Taylor Swift was in the procedural sedation unit! Best day ever!”
The singer also visited a patient named Rylie and gave her a signed copy of her Eras Tour book. The patient’s mother, Anita Belt, wrote on Facebook: “Thank you Taylor Swift for bringing Rylie some joy today! What an amazing way to bring a smile and create a memory!”
Another record showed Taylor posing with a patient and holding a blanket with the phrase: “Go, Taylor’s boyfriend!”, in reference to Kansas City Chiefs player Travis Kelce. According to People magazine, Taylor talked to another child about Travis while signing a copy of his book, and the child said, “I like Travis now,” to which Taylor responded, “Yeah, me too. That’s a big yes for me.”
Another woman, Melissa Nuzum, posted a photo of Taylor next to a patient named Baylee on Facebook and praised the artist for giving the young fan the “coolest, most unexpected surprise ever.”
“Taylor Swift came to visit the hospitalized children today, and Baylee was chosen because she always requests Taylor songs during her uncomfortable procedures. Guys, she is incredible! In addition to all her beauty, she was incredibly kind, approachable and down to earth,” Melissa wrote.
“She gave Baylee a signed copy of her Eras Tour book and also accepted a gift from Baylee (a diamond art painting). I cried because it was wonderful to see my girl smile so much, knowing the pain she has faced,” he continued.
Taylor Swift also recorded a TikTok video set to her song Bad Blood, which was posted by a patient with the caption: “I can’t believe I woke up and suddenly I’m with Taylor Swift.”
