Taylor Swift: new album tops Billboard chart for 7th week

The album “The Tortured Poets Department”, by singer Taylor Swift, once again occupies first place on the Billboard 200, the North American magazine’s main album chart.

The release debuted at the top and, since then, despite showing a drop in sales volume, it has continued to top the chart. The album was in first place the same week that Billie Eilish released “Hit Me Hard and Soft”, her latest album.

This week, “Tortured Poets” sold the equivalent of 148,000 units and became the first album to top the Billboard 200 in its first seven weeks since Morgan Waller’s “One Thing at a Time.”

“1989” and “Fearless” are Taylor Swift’s albums that spent the most weeks at the top of the music chart, with 11 in total. Then comes “Folklore”, with 8. The new album also tied with “Red”, also by “Style” and “Fortnight”, in fourth place, with 7.

The singer expanded her own record and now has, in total, 76 weeks at the top of the Billboard 200. Second place among solo artists is Elvis Presley, with 67 weeks. The Beatles lead the statistics among all artists for 132 weeks at number one on the North American magazine’s album chart.
