To watch Travis Kelcethe last thing one would expect is a crisis of confidence. The tight end of the Kansas City Chiefs, official boyfriend of the billionaire singer Taylor Swiftseems to be brimming with self-possession, an appropriate attitude for someone who asked Swift out in front of her podcast’s large audience. But according to his mother, Donna Kelcethe three-time Super Bowl champion felt the world go haywire when he met the Prince Williamthe Princess Charlotte and the Prince George after the first stop of Swift’s Eras Tour in London.
In June, the American football star admitted that he felt intimidated when he met William after one of Taylor Swift’s concerts at Wembley Stadium. “He was super fucking casual,” Kelce told his brother (and podcaster) Jason Kelce. Despite that ease, however, Kelce didn’t know “whether I should bow and curtsy or be an American idiot and shake his hand and say, ‘What’s up, man?'” he said. “We wanted to be polite, especially since we come from this side of the ocean.”

Making her debut on Swift’s Instagram profile, Kelce has posed for a photo with the singer and members of the royal family with a big smile on their faces (a second photo, without Kelce, it ended on shared Instagram profile of William e Kate Middleton). Since then, that interaction (as well as others Kelce has enjoyed as Swift’s supportive partner) has become part of the Kelce family story, both for its proximity to fame and the vulnerability it brought out in the athlete of 1.98 m and 113 kg.
These family conversations surfaced on Friday, when Jenny Taft Of Extra he blocked Donna Kelce from talking to her. “Is there anything Travis can’t do?” Taft asked his mother, referring to Kelce’s onstage performance of Swift at Wembley.
«Well, he doesn’t know how to clean. He doesn’t know how to cook,” Donna replied with a giggle. “I don’t know if he knows how to paint or make ceramics.” Aside from these household or artistic tasks, though, Donna says her son sometimes struggles to feel comfortable around some of Swift’s more famous fans.
Meeting William, Charlotte and George “was probably one of the greatest things,” Kelce told her mother. But it also gave him a kind of impostor syndrome. «He said that when you meet people like that… well, like members of the royal family, Paul McCartney, Hugh Grant or other such characters… one cannot help but wonder: “Who is out of place in this photo? Why am I here? And why am I even allowed to talk to these people? There’s just something wrong.”
Lest you fear that Kelce is overwhelmed by anxiety, Donna was quick to add that, all things considered, he’s handling encounters with the various living legends quite well. After all, she said, “he’s a pretty friendly guy.”
