TCE Cobra Concessionaire and Government of SP about death on the subway

The SP Court of Auditors notified the viamobility, a concessionaire responsible for the 5 and 17 lines of the São Paulo subway, to provide clarification on the circumstances of the accident that killed a man in the São Paulo subway, last Tuesday (6). The document also questions the Government of SP to inform the contractual and legal measures it has adopted and has adopted in relation to the fact.

In the order, Counselor Dimas Ramalho gives a five -day period for the concessionaire to explain what the measures adopted after the accident and what support is provided to the victim’s family will be.

The counselor also asks if there were previous accidents of the same nature and what measures were adopted to avoid a new accident; Information about the existing security system to avoid this type of occurrence and its operation at the time of the accident; and what are the amounts invested in the safety of passengers since the beginning of the concession.

Finally, the counselor also questions the Secretariat of Partnerships in investments of the State Government of São Paulo, so that, within the same period, inform the contractual and legal measures that adopted and has adopted in relation to the case, in view of the services provided by viamobility.

This Wednesday (7), the Regulatory Agency of Public Services Delegated Transportation of the State of São Paulo (Artesp) reported that a sanctioning process will be instituted to investigate the case.

Remember the case

A 35-year-old man died after being arrested between the platform door and the car access door at Campo Limpo Metro Station, on line 5-lilac, located in the south of São Paulo.

In a statement, the Public Security Bureau (SSP) reported that the case was registered as a suspicious death by the Metropolitan Police Station (Delpom), which requested expertise.
