TCL unveils new mid-range smartphones TCL 20 series and unveils stretchable concept


Chinese electronics manufacturer TCL has announced new models of the TCL 20 series of smartphones, which were first unveiled earlier this year at CES 2021.

TCL 20 Pro 5G

This model is the most advanced in terms of performance. The novelty has received a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with HDR10 support and the latest generation of TCL NXTVISION’s proprietary image optimization technology, which provides more accurate color, contrast and sharpness, depending on the content. The device is built on a fairly efficient mobile platform Snapdragon 750G. Despite a whopping 256 GB of storage, the manufacturer provides the ability to expand the internal memory using microSD cards.

The key feature of TCL 20 Pro 5G is support for fifth generation cellular networks. In addition, it should be noted the camera with four sensors and optical image stabilization. The smartphone has already gone on sale in Europe at a price of 549 euros.

TCL 20L и 20L Plus

More affordable options received the same screen size as the Pro version, but with an IPS matrix. Both devices have a simpler processor (Snapdragon 662) and less RAM (TCL 20L). Nevertheless, smartphones can boast of more capacious batteries with support for fast charging.

The TCL 20L and 20L Plus use Circular Polarization Display technology, which allows the screen to be viewed from any angle through polarized sunglasses. These new items are also already on sale in Europe at prices ranging from 229 euros and 269 euros, respectively. The TCL 20L smartphone will go on sale in the US under the name TCL 20S.

In addition to real-life devices, TCL also showed an unusual concept of the Fold ʼn Roll smartphone, which can not only unfold, but also stretch. In fact, this makes it a versatile gadget, since it can be both a smartphone and a tablet at the same time.

TCL Fold ʼn Roll is equipped with a 6.87-inch display that expands to 8.85 inches when unfolded and 10 inches when expanded. The company admitted that while only studying the specifications of this type of device, but still announced plans to release a foldable smartphone by the end of 2021.
