The Federal Court of Auditors (TCU) gave former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL) a period of 5 days to return the jewels from the second case that were presented by Saudi Arabia in 2021.
The objects were listed in the personal collection of the former head of state, who denies any wrongdoing. A first case, containing earrings and a necklace, is retained at the Federal Revenue Service, after being intercepted upon arrival in Brazil.
A full audit of all gifts Bolsonaro received from 2019 to 2022 on behalf of the government was also determined.
