The Secretariat for External Control of the National Financial System of the Federal Court of Auditors (TCU) issued an opinion recommending diligence and information to Caixa Econômica Federal on the consignment of Auxílio Brasil.
The document is a response to the request by the Public Ministry of the TCU for the suspension of the payroll, alleging that the use of the measure has a “merely electoral purpose and to the detriment of the bank’s related purposes”.
In the opinion, Secex Finanças proposes “to determine, under the terms of art. 276, § 2, of the Internal Regulations/TCU, the prior hearing of Caixa Econômica Federal, so that, within a period of up to five working days, it manifests itself on the representation made by Deputy Attorney General Lucas Rocha Furtado of the Public Ministry before the Court Union Accounts (MPTCU)”.
In addition to the statement on the sub-attorney’s request, the secretariat also requests, within a period of five days, information on the volume, requirements, average value and terms of resources already contracted, and clarifications and justifications for the beginning of the granting of the consigned loan to beneficiaries of Auxílio Brasil and BPC.
The document also asks for clarification on the credit line for the female audience of the “Caixa paraelas – Empreendedoras” program.
Now, after the recommendations of the technical unit, the rapporteur minister of the process, Aroldo Cedraz, needs to decide on the request of the MP from the TCU and on the recommendations of Secex Finanças.
THE CNN contacted Caixa for a statement on the subject, and is awaiting a position from the institution.
