Teacher is fired for not going to work… for 20 years!

Being a teacher is not easy at all, you have to plan, work after hours, invest money from your own pocket and have the patience to serve more than 30 students inside and outside the classroom. For this reason, the story of Cinzia Paolina De Lio, originally from Italy, has attracted attention, since she was absent from her work for 20 years, but she continued to receive her monthly payment without reviewing tasks or applying any exam. .

The teacher admitted that her situation was “absolutely unique and surreal” because once she was fired, she had already moved to “the beach”. In addition, the reason for her discharge was not due to her faults, but to her teaching abilities, which she herself did not know.

“The ghost teacher”, as they have begun to call her on the Internet, was denounced by her own students, who reported the constant absenteeism of the teacher. The youngsters also mentioned that if Cinzia attended classes she did so without material or prior preparation of the topics.

It is worth mentioning that these young people were not the only ones who alerted the school authorities, but they were the last, since Cinzia had been previously reported by other groups, which is why an investigation was opened in the Ministry of Education.

In said investigation, it was discovered that Cinzia used leave due to work accidents, pregnancy, family problems, illnesses and training courses to be absent without affecting her place as a teacher. In fact, during her first ten years as a teacher she did not show up to teach and for the next 14 years she requested multiple leaves, accumulating more than 180 days of absenteeism, for which they decided to fire her from her.

However, during all that time, Cinzia received her salary, which she used to study different careers, as she claimed to be part of the College of Journalists and have a specialization in Criminology, History of Medicine and Animal Therapy. Even so, her career as a teacher came to an end, as did the salaries she earned from those classrooms.
