The Civil Police are looking for clues of the murder of Professor Fernanda Reinecke Bonin, 42, found dead, on Monday, 28, on a land near the Interlagos racetrack, in the Sula of São Paulo.
The educator had her neck tied with a shoelace and signs of strangulation. She taught math classes at a high -end school in the capital.
The Secretariat of Public Security (SSP-SP) reported on Thursday, 1, that investigations go to ascertain whether the crime constitutes murder-theft followed by death-as initially recorded, or homicide. In this case, the hypothesis is that someone planned the death of the educator, and may have simulated a theft.
The vehicle she was driving and Fernanda’s cell phone disappeared and have not yet been found. The SSP points out that the nature of the occurrence can be revised and adjusted during the course of the inquiry, without prejudice to the investigation.
Wife, family members and building employees heard
Police heard the teacher’s wife, who would have been the last person to talk to her, and other family members of the victim. Employees of the building where Fernanda lived were also heard. The investigation analyzes images of the surveillance system of the region’s monitoring cameras building. The goal is to establish the route made by the vehicle to the place where the body was found.
According to the investigation, Fernanda left home to help the 45 -year -old companion, who had a mechanical problem with her car on Jaguaré Avenue, in the West Zone. The two had been married for eight years, but about a year ago lived in separate homes. The woman took the couple’s two children to the teacher’s residence when her car stopped. As she was with the children, she asked for help and sent her location to her partner.
Images of surveillance cameras of the building show Fernanda Bonin down alone through the elevator, carrying her cell phone. Then she leaves the building in her car, a Hyundai Tucson SUV.
According to the wife, the teacher did not arrive at the agreed place. In a statement to the police, she said the car went back to work about half an hour later and went to the teacher’s building to leave the children, but she was not. Since he could not contact and the next day the teacher did not work, she reported the disappearance to the police.
Body found after anonymous report
On Monday morning, after anonymous report, military police found the body on the ground located on Avenida João Paulo da Silva, in Vila da Paz. The place is wild and little illuminated. Fernanda was lying on her back, dressed in pants, blouse, sock and sandals, appearing a pajamas, and typical signs of strangulation.
Her belongings – her cell phone and car – were not found, which led the police to initially suspect a murder. On the same day, the focus of the findings began to include the murder.
Police are awaiting the expert reports where the body was found and the victim’s necropsy, which should confirm that the death even occurred by mechanical asphyxiation (strangulation).
Fernanda Bonin’s body was buried on Wednesday, 30, in a cemetery of Santo André, in the region of ABC Paulista.
The direction of Beacon School, where Fernanda taught, issued a note of regret for the death of the teacher. “Professor Fernanda Bonin has deeply marked the lives of many students and colleagues with her dedication, kindness and commitment to education, and will miss you.”
Data from SSP-SP show that the number of homicides rose in the first quarter of this year in São Paulo compared to the same period last year. There were 132 victims of willful homicide between January and March 2025, ten more than in 2024. The victims of murder fell from 17 in the initial quarter of 2024 to 13 in this year – four less victims.
