The pre-candidate for the Presidency of the Republic by the MDB, Simone Tebet, has yet to officially receive the guidelines of the future government plan from the former governor of Rio Grande do Sul Germano Rigotto, responsible for coordinating the senator’s campaign guidelines, but some decisions have already been taken by the emedebista.
Tebet argues that some points are “non-negotiable”. Among them, in principle, the re-creation of the Ministry of Public Security as a separate portfolio from Justice, the equal composition between men and women at the head of ministries on the Esplanade and the creation of the National Secretariat for Children and Adolescents.
“These are things I don’t give up. It’s non-negotiable, but I can’t be a candidate myself. I belong to a group and I will have to know how to make concessions in the sense of ‘it’s ok, as long as it doesn’t violate my essence, which I believe as a base'”, said the pre-candidate to CNN .
This Thursday (9), the National Executive of the PSDB confirmed its support for its presidential pre-candidacy. The information was disclosed by the party’s president, Bruno Araújo, to the press. There is a tendency for Senator Tasso Jereissati (PSDB-CE) to be nominated as deputy on Tebet’s ticket.
The PSDB and MDB intend to discuss the composition of a single government program in the coming weeks. Responsible for the senator’s campaign guidelines, former Rio Grande do Sul governor Germano Rigotto told the analyst CNN Gustavo Uribe who will suggest to Bruno Araújo that the acronym send contributions to the government plan.
It is expected that, in the coming weeks, Rigotto will meet with federal deputy Rodrigo Maia (PSDB-RJ), who was in charge of the government proposal for the presidential candidacy of former São Paulo governor João Doria (PSDB).
At the moment, Tebet’s intention is for the future National Secretariat for Children and Adolescents to be installed inside the Planalto Palace.
“It will be in my living room, the map has to be on my desk”, he says.
In his assessment, in this way, he will be able to promote more programs and transversal actions between ministries for the area.
The emedebista defends that it is possible to significantly change the education and health support of a generation in eight years. For those who think that it only changes in decades, it is very “comfortable”, she said.
According to her, the problem is “more coordination than money” and all public policies must cover children and adolescents. Otherwise, the government will be “eternally drying ice”, she reckons.
Tebet was once a law professor and is convinced that the major problem in this area is the lack of continuing education for teachers, one of the points she intends to focus on in her government plan.
Also according to the senator, the recreation of the Ministry of Public Security aims to bring closer to the Union the coordination of the public security governance system, such as the penitentiary issue, in addition to coordinating an intelligence policy between police in relation to the organized crime.
Defender of equal opportunities and conditions for men and women, Tebet also claims that there will be parity in the command of ministries in her eventual government. That is, she will appoint the same number of men and women in front of the folders.
The main points of his government plan would be officially delivered on June 2 by Germano Rigotto to Simone Tebet, on a trip to Rio Grande do Sul, but the agenda was postponed due to family issues of the senator and has not yet been rescheduled.
