Teenager who committed an attack at a school in SP used his father’s gun

The weapon used by the teenager in the attack that killed a young woman and injured two other students this Monday morning (23) at Escola Estadual Sapopemba, in the east zone of São Paulo, was legal and belonged to the suspect’s father.

Sources linked to the investigation informed the CNN that the teenager is the son of separated parents and that he spent the weekend at his father’s house, in ABC Paulista.

According to reports, during the weekend the young man searched the house and found both the 38 caliber revolver and the corresponding ammunition. The materials were stored in different locations. The weapon’s registration would be old, according to sources who asked not to be identified.

The investigation will be conducted at the 70th DP (Sapopemba). According to the Civil Police, other people will be investigated, not for their direct participation in the crime, but for having some connection with the attacker.
