Telecommunication groups bet on IT projects

With the barrage of digital projects brought by the new NSRF and the Recovery Fund, the telecommunications groups are thrown into the battle of the tenders and expand their activities in the field of information and communication technologies (ICT), claiming shares from a market that is expected to exceed 2 billion. euro.

In addition to connectivity projects, which are their main object, telecommunications groups in recent years have expanded to integrated IT projects, which claim either alone or in groups with other companies.

Domestic groups are following a trend that has emerged in recent years abroad that wants telecommunications companies to transform into technology groups and provide integrated services in addition to digital interconnection projects.

OTE

OTE has developed especially in the last decade significant activity in digital projects with the field of ICT (Information and Communications Technology) being a strategic pillar for the group.

With intense activity in the field of IT Integration, it has been established as a selection partner for the implementation of modern solutions in the fields of Digitalization and Cloud Transformation, Cyber ​​Security, Internet of Things, Health (eHealth), Tourism and Energy.

For the State, the Group has implemented – alone or in a Union – some of the most demanding IT projects of recent years. These projects include the Intangible Prescription and the corresponding myHealth application for mobile phones, the National Telemedicine Network, the National Covid-19 Patient Registry, the electronic document handling and digital signature platform, and the operation of the European Emergency Number 11 ” In addition, the OTE group has specialized in the implementation of “Smart Cities” projects, with typical examples of the Smart Parking projects for people with disabilities in Chania, Smart Water Management in Monemvasia and Smart Traffic Management in the pedestrian center of Larissa.

In the private sector, it has partnered with large private companies, carrying out small and large projects, from setting up a Coca-Cola HBC Data Center for 28 countries and upgrading Fraport Greece’s 14 regional airports to technology business solutions. such as Eurobank, Iasso Group, Mitsi Hotel Group, MYTILINEOS, Athens International Airport, etc.

In addition, the OTE group has developed intense activity abroad, undertaking projects for the development and management of infrastructure and ICT systems for European Union Organizations and International Organizations.
By investing in ICT systematically for a decade, OTE has acquired strong know-how and is ready to respond to the projects summarized in the Digital Transformation Book and will be financed by the Recovery Fund, in the direction of the country’s digital transition.

In this context, he participates, alone or in groups with other companies, in competitions for important projects, such as new identities, the digitization of the archives of the 390 Mortgage Offices of the country and the Unified Digital Map of the Technical Chamber of Greece (TEE).

Vodafone

Vodafone Greece is also present in public ICT projects. Recently, Vodafone was announced the contractor for the project “Development of an Integrated State Aid Information System” of the Special State Aid Service of the Ministry of Development and Investment, with a budget of 6.9 million euros including VAT.

The object of the project is the development, configuration, installation and commissioning of the Integrated State Aid Information System (OPSKE) for the Programming Period 2021-2027. Vodafone undertook the project in a joint venture with Allweb Solutions SA and Cosmos Business Systems.
In addition, Vodafone is the final contractor and is soon expected to sign the contract for the digital project “Transformation of Consular Services”, amounting to 4.8 million euros including VAT. The project includes the transformation and digitization of the procedures of the provided Consular Services. Vodafone entered the competition in collaboration with Quality & Reliability.

At the same time, it is a runner-up in the international tender for the project “Development of Internet Services to achieve Interoperability between the Information Systems of Public Administration”, with a maximum budget of 27.9 million euros including VAT, which will be carried out through a framework agreement. Vodafone entered the tender in a joint venture with Cosmos Business Systems and Quality & Reliability. The exact amount of the executive contracts and the time of their execution are expected to be determined in a later phase.
In addition, it participates in the international tender of the Land Registry for the digitization of the files of the 390 mortgage offices of the country, having submitted a bid for two of the five total sections of the tender, in collaboration with Geoanalysis, Cosmos Business Systems and Quality & Reliability.

Wind-Nova

WIND Hellas is now active in public works, while further strengthening of this sector is expected with the creation of the joint Wind-Nova scheme under the roof of United Grou. In addition, according to a recent announcement, in order to meet modern urban challenges, WIND is systematically investing in the development of information and communication technologies (ICT) and offers a new, integrated range of digital services and applications for “smart” cities.

At the same time, the new digital solutions provided by the company can support a number of needs of the public sector and local government, actively and effectively participating in their digital modernization.

WIND’s new line of digital solutions includes, among other things, Smart Water Management systems for the better management of the water resources of cities, Smart Parking, where the use of WIND’s advanced network makes it easier to find free parking spaces by drivers, as well as Buildings Energy Management, to improve the design and take the necessary actions to reduce energy consumption.

In addition, the new digital solutions developed by WIND include an Integrated Crisis Management and Coordination System, through which the company provides equipment and networks to upgrade civil protection at the local level, as well as the information support of the competent teams. .

Wind provides a range of applications and services that have been created, including smart solutions for health (e-health), mobility (smart mobility), digital culture and tourism, which are key strategic areas of WIND activity.
