Telegram received a major update, within which the developers paid special attention to privacy – the innovations look controversial. True, the work was not limited to only in this direction – there were global color themes and an improvement of the client for iOS.
Content protection in groups and channels
From now on, channel and group administrators have the right to prohibit subscribers from copying posts in every possible way: save media content, forward messages and take screenshots. Obviously, this is not one hundred percent privacy protection (after all, you can, conditionally, take a photo of a “secure” chat opened on a computer from a smartphone), but such innovations clearly increase it.
Delete correspondence for a specific period
In the past, Telegram made it possible to delete messages for all participants without a trace, and now it has expanded this functionality – from now on, you can delete messages not only manually or with the whole dialogue at once, but also massively for a selected period of time. This is done through the new calendar menu – you can access it by clicking on the date plate, which is displayed when scrolling through the dialog.
Controlling connected devices
A new button for instant entry to Telegram on a computer or browser has appeared in the “Devices” menu in the messenger settings, as well as a setting for active sessions – for example, you can deactivate secret chats on your computer from your smartphone.
