The extratropical cyclone that hit the South region in recent days has moved away, but the passage of the cold front associated with it causes a sharp drop in temperature in the South and Southeast regions this Tuesday (5), points out Climatempo.
The morning was already rainy in the state of São Paulo, but there may be occasional showers throughout the day. Thermometers, in turn, must record a minimum of 15°C at night.
“We already had rain overnight as the cyclone advanced. The tendency is for us to record some occasional rains, but the cyclone is already well away”, said Maria Clara Sassaki, meteorologist at Climatempo, to CNN .
“Other areas of the country have a chance of rain due to the cyclone. the cold front associated with the cyclone forms instabilities inland. Interior of São Paulo, Minas Gerais, and the entire Midwest are at risk of storms. It is an isolated rain, but it will be heavy where it falls.”
The specialist also said that, with the cyclone’s removal, firm weather returns to predominate in the South and opens up space for polar air to lower temperatures in the region even further. In the border region with Uruguay and in the Gaúcha Campaign, the risk of frost is accentuated.
“Throughout the day, steady weather returns to Rio Grande do Sul and the polar air takes over the southern region of the country. Now people have a risk of frost, with very low temperatures over the next few days in the south of the country, “he reported.
