A cold front advances from the South to the Southeast and causes instability in the weather. This Saturday (30), the city of São Paulo has milder temperatures, and some areas may register rain, but they should not accumulate large volumes.
In an interview with CNN Climatempo meteorologist Carine Gama explains that these are characteristics of autumn – a transition between the humidity and heat of summer, and the driest and coldest time, which is winter.
“It is normal during the autumn to have these oscillations. We had, during the week, extremely high temperatures, and yesterday it changed for good. Today, we have a very sharp drop in temperature, increased cloudiness and rain,” she said.
Carine informed that this change in weather was caused by the passage of the cold front, which was restricted to the South during the week due to an atmospheric blockage, but is now moving towards the Southeast.
Last Wednesday (27), the capital of São Paulo recorded low levels of humidity, reaching 24%.
“With the passage of the cold front we have an improvement. And throughout the week, even without the forecast of rain, the air humidity remains good. The values still won’t get that low in the next 5-7 days,” he commented.
