The city of São Paulo dawned cold this Saturday (20), with a temperature reaching 1ºC at Congonhas airport, in the south zone of the capital, where the thermometers indicated 9ºC, according to the CGE (Climate Emergency Management Center of the city of São Paulo). ).
At around 6 am, the CGE’s network of meteorological stations recorded an average of 10ºC in the city. In M’Boi Mirim, in the south zone, the thermometers indicated 10ºC with a sensation of 2ºC; In Santana, in the North Zone, the thermometers pointed to 10ºC with a sensation of 5ºC. According to the technicians, the weather radar did not indicate rain over the Metropolitan Region.
“Thermometers should not exceed the maximum of 13ºC. Winds blowing from the south quadrant accentuate the feeling of cold. There is no forecast of rain, only potential for drizzle between late afternoon and early evening,” the center said in a statement.
The CGE says the presence of cool, humid air should keep temperatures low over the weekend, with record lowest minimum and maximum temperatures expected for the winter of 2022.
The lowest lows and highs of the year so far were recorded in the fall, according to the CGE database. The lowest average minimum temperature in the city, 6.3°C, was measured on May 20, recalls the center, and the lowest maximum in the city, 12.6°C, occurred on May 18.
The lowest absolute minimum, which is observed in only one location, also occurred in the autumn, at dawn on June 13, 0.7°C in the district of Engenheiro Marsilac, in the Parelheiros Subprefecture, at the extreme of the South Zone.
“On Sunday (21), there are still conditions for drizzle at dawn, however, during the day, the sun appears between many clouds. Thermometers oscillate between a minimum of 9°C and a maximum of 17°C”, predicts the CGE.
Based on the monitoring of the CGE, in the last week, the Municipal Civil Defense Coordination decreed a state of alert for low temperatures throughout the city, in force since Thursday (18).
