After days of intense heat in several cities across the country, temperatures are expected to drop in the coming days, according to information from Inmet meteorologist Olivio Bahia, in an interview with CNN.
“Temperatures are even dropping over the next few days, due to the cloudiness and rain,” said the expert.
According to him, however, “theThroughout this summer we cannot rule out the occurrence of a new heat wave.” “In the next, I would say, 7 or 15 days we don’t have that possibility,” she added.
Regarding the heavy rains that hit cities like Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo, the meteorologist explained that the conditions are typical of the Brazilian summer.
“This combination, heat and high humidity, already favors these rain showers, especially between afternoon and night, the cloudsnif develop, stay more loaded, unfortunately causing this whole package: a lot of rain, wind, lightning and even hail,” he said.
The expert's guidelines in the face of storms are:
- Avoid taking shelter under trees or metal structures;
- Avoid entering flooded streets during the rain;
- Look for a safe place;
- Seek information from your city's Civil Defense.
