Ten people died Sunday and Monday in floods and torrential rains that hit the state of Minas Gerais in southeastern Brazil, local authorities said today.
Brazilian authorities have warned of new deadly floods in the state, which plunged into mourning on Saturday after the horrific fall of a huge steep gorge that claimed the lives of 10 people aboard a boat on a tourist lake.
The last ten victims lost their lives in floods and landslides, explained the Coordination Team of the Civil Protection Service of Mina Zerais.
Among them, five members of the same family, including two children aged 3 and 6, were killed when the vehicle they were riding in was covered in mud in a landslide in the city of Brumantinio.
