Ten victims of the gym instructor who filmed students without consent have already contacted the police

At least ten women went to the Alcântara police station, in São Gonçalo, in the metropolitan region of Rio de Janeiro, to report the gym teacher who was filming students without consent in a gym.

The information was confirmed by delegate Luís Maurício Armond, responsible for the case, who said that the number of victims must be even higher.

Leonardo Azevedo da Costa, 34 years old, was arrested in the act this Tuesday (17) and, according to the Civil Police, confessed to the crime.

“He confesses that he did this with a minor, which is child pornography,” said the delegate. Records of child pornography were found in the teacher’s house. Documents, electronics, computers and cell phones were seized from the suspect.

According to the Civil Police, the victims were warned that images of them at the gym were being used and distributed in groups with erotic content.

“Several victims went to the police station saying that they had been alerted through an Instagram profile that their images were being used. They were filmed by this teacher in sports practice situations that he actually eroticized, he even threw sperm at them without them noticing and filmed them in that context, posting this material on social networks and sometimes earning from it, other times not”, explained Armond .

The Civil Police reported that Leonardo must respond to article 241-B of the Child and Adolescent Statute: acquiring, possessing or storing, by any means, a photograph, video or other form of record that contains an explicit or pornographic sex scene involving a child or adolescent . The penalty is one to four years in prison and a fine.

In a statement, the Total Box gym, where Leonardo worked and committed the crimes, reported that it does not condone any form of harassment and that the teacher was no longer part of the staff since the 10th.
