A Montenegro court has ordered the release of Terraform Labs co-founder Do Kwon from prison and the confiscation of his passport so that he cannot leave the country. Kwon's extradition to South Korea was postponed.

Local newspaper Vijesti reported that Do Kwon will be released from Spuz prison today, March 23. Currently, several states are trying to extradite the co-founder of Terraform Labs. The main struggle for Do Kwon was between the US and South Korean authorities. Montenegrin courts previously canceled Kwon's extradition to the United States and have now postponed the developer's extradition to South Korea.

Recall that the Terra ecosystem collapsed in the spring of 2022. Users have lost about $40 billion and, according to law enforcement agencies in South Korea and the United States, Do Kwon and other creators of Terraform Labs must answer for this.

Recently, the Prosecutor General's Office of Montenegro appealed to the country's Supreme Court with a demand to cancel Do Kwon's extradition to South Korea. It is worth noting that if the creator of Terra is extradited to the United States, he faces a significantly longer prison sentence.
