Yesterday, March 29, the developers from the studio Re-Logic released the 1.4.2 update for the popular sandbox Terraria, which fixed about twenty bugs and added support for the Steam Workshop. That is, now gamers will be able to add their own virtual worlds, texture packs, full-fledged additional language packs and even music compositions to the game without any difficulties. This, firstly, will significantly diversify the gameplay, and secondly, gamers, in theory, can now create their own localization options, replacing the standard packages.
The addition of third-party content, as in other games with support for the Steam Workshop, occurs through the platform client – there is already a lot of interesting content that the user adds to his game client in one click. In addition, additional buttons appeared in the main menu that allow you to import a custom virtual world or publish your own, plus there are two buttons for importing resources or publishing them to the network. And so that gamers can immediately try something new, the developers from the studio Re-Logic presented two sets of textures (Lazure and Jimmarn) in the workshop, which you can download and test yourself.
Also, the authors of Terraria, along with the patch, added the function of renaming characters and worlds, but, unfortunately, it was not without a fly in the ointment. The fact is that the official tModLoader software, which allows you to load various mods and change the sandbox gameplay, still works exclusively with Terraria in version 1.3.5. The developers promise to work actively to bring tModLoader into the 1.4 era, but there is still no exact date for the release of the updated software for custom modifications.
