Meanwhile, after several days of Russian kamikaze UAV attacks against Ukrainian cities, particularly Kiev, air defense arrays on the Crimean peninsula, which Russia annexed in March 2014, were activated to intercept Ukrainian remote-controlled drones on Monday, according to Russian news agency TASS.
Two Ukrainian UAVs were shot down over Sevastopol, a strategically important naval base, TASS said. “Our air defenses continue to repel attacks,” Moscow-appointed governor Mikhail Razvazaev said.
