Tesla hopes to complete Cybertruck development this year and start production next year

Tesla has been working on its cyberpunk-inspired electric pickup for years. The launch of the Tesla Cybertruck has been delayed more than once, but it seems that now Elon Musk’s company is closer than ever before to completing its ambitious project.

During a recent press conference to announce Tesla’s fourth quarter and 2021 financial results as a whole, the head of the company mentioned the brand’s most long-awaited car. This time, Elon Musk did not reassure the public, promising to launch the Tesla Cybertruck in the very near future. However, he said that his company plans to fully complete the development of the electric pickup as early as 2022, in order to be ready to launch its mass production in 2023. Musk did not announce a more specific date for the appearance of the Tesla Cybertruck on sale. Therefore, whether this will be the beginning of next year or its end, one can only guess.

It is worth recalling that Tesla first showed the Cybertruck to the public in 2019, promising to launch it before the end of 2021. However, it was not possible to complete the development of the car exactly on time, and the company postponed the start of its production to 2022. But this goal was not achieved either.
