The Chinese electric scooter manufacturer NIU is rapidly gaining popularity in the electric scooter and scooter market. The Beijing-based company continues to deliver impressive results in both the domestic and international markets.
NIU’s recently released sales statistics for Q2 2021 and H1 2021 confirm strong sales growth. In the second quarter of 2021, 252,998 new scooters and scooters were sold, which is 58% more than in the second quarter of 2021. In the first half of the year, the company sold 402,647 devices, which is 101% more than in the previous year. The huge six-month growth rate was mainly due to the coronavirus pandemic, which closed many stores in the first half of last year.

The company is already called “Tesla in the electric scooter and scooter market.” Recall that the founder of Tesla and SpaceX, Elon Musk, recently announced that the Tesla team managed to produce more than 200,000 electric vehicles in the second quarter. The NIU, which has shown strong sales growth over the past years, is expected to show even more impressive results by the end of this year.
NIU is expanding its range of electric scooters and scooters with a focus on premium mid and high speed units. The NIU electric motorcycle will be released later this year.
