Thematic resource EV Sales published statistics on sales of electric vehicles in February this year. If at the very beginning of the year the Chinese Hongguang MINI EV with a price of 4.5 thousand dollars became the most popular electric car in the world, then in February Tesla Model 3 regained this title.

Just over 28,000 Model 3s were sold in February, compared to just over 20,000 Hongguang MINI EVs. In third place is the Tesla Model Y (this crossover is very popular in China), in fourth and fifth are again the “Chinese” – Great Wall Ora Black Cat and BYD Han EV.

Tesla is still the main supplier of electric vehicles to the global market – it owns 13% of the segment (while in the US, Tesla’s electric vehicle market share is only 80%). In second place is SAIC-GM-Wuling Automobile with its super popular Hongguang MINI EV. The third, fourth and fifth places are taken by BMW, BYD and Volkswagen, respectively.
