The Chinese regulator today announced that Tesla will “recall” about 300,000 Model 3 and Model Y electric vehicles, both made in China and imported into that country, for software updates. In fact, the owners don’t even need to come to the service station as the update will be done online.

The State Administration for Market Regulation said on its website that the move is related to a driver assistance feature that can currently be accidentally activated by drivers and causes unexpected acceleration.
This is the first review of its kind by Tesla in China. It covers 249,855 Chinese-made Model 3 and Model Y electric vehicles and 35,665 imported Model 3 electric vehicles.
