In 2017, Apple announced the release of the AirPower charging station, which wirelessly powers up to three devices lying on it. The gadget was supposed to be released in 2018, but there were problems with heating, which is why the manufacturer closed the project – there is still no news about it. But Tesla turned out to be able to do this: it not only announced, but already released a similar charging station.

Tesla’s Wireless Charging Platform can charge up to three devices, each providing up to 15W of power. The design of the station is inspired by the appearance of the Cybertruck pickup truck – the angularity is noticeable both in the device itself and in the branded charging unit. The body of the platform is aluminum, the surface is upholstered in premium Alcantara, and a removable magnetic stand is attached to the bottom (allowing you to set the platform at an angle).

The device uses Aira’s FreePower technology, which was used in charging stations and other manufacturers – it allows you to charge gadgets located anywhere on the platform. The catch is that FreePower is only compatible with Qi-charging, that is, the same Apple Watch cannot be powered by it.
The Wireless Charging Platform is priced at $300 and comes with a USB-C cable, a 65-watt adapter, and a magnetic stand.
