Tesla began selling certain goods for the Dogecoin (DOGE) meme cryptocurrency, the head of the company, Elon Musk, said. Amid the announcement, the asset’s price rose 15%, according to CoinGecko.

Some products on the website of the electric car manufacturer can only be purchased with cryptocurrency. At this stage, buyers are not given the opportunity to choose a form of payment.
A page has appeared on Tesla’s support sub-site stating that the company only accepts Dogecoin for payment. The manufacturer does not support other digital assets and emphasizes that the senders of incorrect transfers will lose their money.
A few days ago, Twitter users drew attention to the fact that Tesla was testing payments in DOGE. They uncovered a hidden code pointing to the company’s plans to integrate payment in cryptocurrency.

In December 2021, Elon Musk announced that Tesla would release merchandise that could be purchased for DOGE. The billionaire did not disclose any details, but noted that the company “will see how everything goes.”
