The upgraded Tesla Model 3 should see the light of day in 2023. In the third quarter of next year, its production will start at Tesla’s Shanghai gigafactory. Also, the car will be assembled at the company’s American plant in Fremont, although the sources did not specify the time frame for production to start there.
As part of the Tesla Model 3 upgrade, the company plans to reduce the number of components used, abandon many unnecessary parts and functions, and refresh the sedan both inside and out, making the design even more minimalistic. Sam Fiorani, head of analytics company AutoForecast Solutions, suggested that the upcoming Model 3 update will be a clear demonstration of how Tesla eliminates production difficulties. According to him, Elon Musk’s company is always looking for a way to make its electric vehicles more profitable and cheaper to manufacture.
According to one version, the release of an upgraded version of the Tesla Model 3 could be a dress rehearsal before the launch of an even more affordable electric car known as the Model 2. Elon Musk has previously said that the company plans to halve the production costs of producing a more compact and cheaper Model 2 compared to Model 3.
“Again and again we find unnecessary parts that were installed just in case or by mistake. We removed so many parts from the car that did nothing, ”Musk said then, hinting at the upcoming upgrade of the Model 3.
