A new comprehensive testing of the flagship Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra smartphones across different platforms allowed the Exynos 2100 and Snapdragon 888 platforms to be compared under the same conditions. Alas, the Exynos 2100 looks like an outsider here.
The tests were carried out using additional cooling for smartphones: while the Galaxy S21 Ultra on the Exynos 2100 was cooled by both a fan and in the refrigerator, the Galaxy S21 Ultra on the Snapdragon 888 was cooled only by a fan. As it turned out, under equal conditions (with fan cooling), the model on the Exynos 2100 is noticeably inferior in performance to the version on the Snapdragon 888, and only if the Galaxy S21 Ultra on the proprietary platform is placed in the refrigerator, their performance will level out.

According to benchmarks, the power consumption of the Galaxy S21 Ultra on the Exynos 2100 is 18-35% higher than that of the model on the Qualcomm platform. Accordingly, autonomy suffers. As for the performance, it seems that even under normal operating conditions, throttling occurs in the Galaxy S21 Ultra on the Exynos 2100, which is why the smartphone is not able to compete with its counterpart on a competitive SoC.
