The company compared the figure with the US population and emphasized that the final result does not include USDT users on centralized Bitcoin exchanges. The latter are valued at several tens of millions more in Tether.

Despite the large audience, the issuer records an increase in the growth rate of the indicator. Thus, the third quarter of 2024 turned out to be a record year and brought 36.25 million new users.

Tether associated the increase in audience with second-level solutions and the development of the TON ecosystem.
The most popular blockchains for USDT were TRON, BNB Chain and Ethereum, but the greatest growth over the past year was recorded in Optimism, Arbitrum and Polygon.

Previously, Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino called the company “the best friend of the US government.” Prior to this, the issuer reported helping 145 law enforcement agencies recover more than $108.8 million in USDT since 2014.
