Texas – Astroworld: Spectator’s lawsuit against Drake and Travis Scott for inciting the crowd to bloodshed

Huge is the shock from the death of 8 people, including a 14-year-old child, and the injury of dozens of others at the Astroworld Festival in Texas, during the live set of rapper Travis Scott. A spectator at the festival asked Travis Scott and Drake for more than a million dollars, claiming that the rappers “motivated the crowd” which left him “seriously injured” and eight other dead.

According to the Daily Mail, 23-year-old Kristian Paredes, from Austin, Texas, filed the complaint on Sunday 7/11 accusing the rappers, Live Nation Entertainment Inc. and Harris County Sports and Convention Corporation for negligence.

According to the complaint, special guest Drake “went on stage next to Travis Scott and helped to stir up the crowd”. He accuses Drake of continuing to play Travis Scott “as the crowd spiraled out of control and the chaos continued.”

The young man is now asking for more than $ 1 million for his bodily injuries, some of which he claims are permanent, as well as to cover medical expenses.

This is not the first time this has happened at a Scott concert

Scott, who said he was “devastated” by the deaths and could not “imagine such a thing”, has been convicted twice for encouraging fans to jump safety bars and rush to the stage at previous concerts.

The 23-year-old injured says that he was in front of the section with the general entrance of the public where there was a metal barrier that separated him from the VIP section. He says he felt a “big boost” as the countdown to Travis Scott’s concert ended.

“The crowd became chaotic and started a riot, leaving eight dead and dozens injured, including Kristian Paredes,” the indictment said.

“Many asked the security guards hired by Live Nation Entertainment for help, but were ignored,” he said.

Videos circulating on Twitter show fans begging the rapper to stop at the concert and shout “stop the show” as people were found to have been trampled by other spectators who broke security measures.

Fans shouted at the production people around us, saying “stop the concert, people are dying”. “Nobody listened,” Madeline Eskins, a nurse attending the concert, told Rolling Stone.

“The space was definitely overcrowded. It was crazy, honestly. “I knew it was very crowded – it was just getting worse as I got closer to the Travis Scott who was playing, it was getting louder, louder, louder.”

The woman said that although she was not to blame for the tragedy, the medical staff of the event was obviously unprepared and inexperienced. “Some of these medical staff had little or no experience with first aid. They did not know how to control the pulse and carotid artery.
