“The biggest gift to the pharmaceutical industry bears the signature of SYRIZA with the Minister of Health Mr. Xanthos”, emphasizes in a statement the Minister of Health Thanos Plevris, commenting on statements of the Head of Health of SYRIZA, on interventions in pharmaceutical policy.
“They received an average pricing regime of 3 lowest prices in the EU countries, without a ‘cutter’ and delivered an average pricing of 2 Eurozone countries with a ‘cutter’, obeying the requirements of the pharmaceutical companies to protect the price of medicines”, notes Mr. Plevris and adds: “Now, with the new pricing provisions, voted against by SYRIZA, negotiations are held with control of the volume of consumption and estimation of the lowest price throughout the EU, while it is possible to reduce the price even without a protective ‘cutter’, if necessary.
The uninsured are fully protected, but now the provoked prescription will be checked, as in recent years the cost has doubled with prescriptions in AMKA, which did not correspond to people living in Greece, with the result that EOPYY pays € 310 million.
“Neither SYRIZA nor the pharmaceutical industry like these measures, but they protect the taxpayers’ money”.
