A three-story house that had been engulfed in flames earlier, on its outskirts Bangkok, collapsed killing at least five people, according to local media.
The fire started early Saturday morning and was extinguished about an hour later. Its causes remain unclear.
The footage that came to the possession of the Reuters agency shows the burnt, blackened frame of the house collapsing with a deafening noise. A firefighter, who had climbed a ladder, to the outer wall, to see the damage up close, escaped at the last minute.
“I heard a sound like something was breaking and the whole building collapsed in seconds,” said another firefighter who videotaped the scene and posted the images on his Facebook page. “Rescuers were ordered to leave the building because his skeleton looked weak,” he added.
At least five people were killed, including a resident and four rescue workers.
The search for survivors in the wreckage was halted when night fell.
