That “special relationship” (and at a distance) between Queen Elizabeth and baby Archie

The queen Elizabeth II does not hug the little one Archie for over a year. Prince Harry e Meghan Markle I am permanently in America with my little son – after leaving their previous “base”, Vancouver Island, Canada – from 26 March. Yet, as a source al Daily Express, between the sovereign and the grandson who will turn 2 on May 6 there is “A special bond”: ‘The queen among the Windsors is the one who spent more time with Archie when the Sussexes lived in London. ‘ That bond, continues the insider, has never been interrupted: “Thanks to video calls, Elizabeth is always in contact with her grandson».

The day when he can see him live, however, does not seem to be on the horizon. Indeed it seems that Meghan and Archie will not be accompanying Harry to London next summer. The presence of the prince in the City next summer is taken for granted. The Duke of Sussex will not want to be cut off from the important events that will take place in the City, pandemic permitting, in the hot months of 2021: the 95th birthday of Elizabeth II (the queen turns her birthday on April 21 but officially celebrates them on June 12 during Trooping the Color); the 100esimo of Prince Philip (on June 10); L’inauguration of the statue in memory of mom Diana» (on July 1st, in the sixtieth from birth).

Harry has another good reason to fly to London: apparently he and his wife want to renegotiate the terms of the “Megxit” with Elizabeth II. According to the British tabloids they intend to ask “Another year in the royal family”. The “trial period” granted to Sussex by Queen Elizabeth will in fact expire on March 31st. But the dukes would like twelve months more. Because they have no intention of losing royal patrons.

In the UK, however, the hypothesis is taking hold that neither wife nor child will be present at the reunion. His Majesty will have to wait a little longer to embrace his grandson again.
