The 11 Greeks arrived in Lithuania on a Ryanair flight

The aircraft which was flying from Athens to Lithuania and makes forced landing in Belarus to arrest journalist opposed to President Alexander Lukashenko, landed late Sunday night at Vilnius Airport.

The Foreign Ministry described as “an act of state hijacking” the forced landing of flight Ryanair FR 4978, which operated the Athens-Vilnius route, in Minsk, Belarus.

Greece, the Foreign Ministry emphasizes, “condemns in the strongest way” what happened. The plane had 171 passengers on board, including 11 Greek citizens. “This act, which endangered the lives of all passengers, is unacceptable,” the ministry said.
