The 1976 photograph with Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip and the difficult times for the palace

A 1976 photo of Prince Philip and Queen Elizabeth in the Balmoral Castle library was posted on the British royal family’s social media as the 99-year-old Duke of Edinburgh recovered from the heart surgery he underwent.

Pictured 45 years ago, Queen Elizabeth is sitting at a desk with her husband standing next to her.

Prince Philip will pass a third week in the hospital, away from Elizabeth, after heart surgery he underwent for a pre-existing heart condition.

He returned to King Edward VII Private Hospital on Friday, where he was admitted two weeks ago for treatment for an unspecified, non-COVID-19-related infection.

Last November, Queen and Prince Philip celebrated their 73rd wedding anniversary. In fact, they released a photo of them opening a card made for them by the children of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

The royal family has been facing another challenge lately, the interview of Prince Harry and Megan Markle at the Winfrey Opera, which is expected to air in the US on Sunday. Despite calls to postpone the interview, excerpts of which have already seen the light of day, due to the adventure of Prince Philip, the couple does not seem to back down in their decision.
