Last year, with the Zenfone 7 lineup, Asus stripped smartphones of the 3.5mm audio jack that was present on the Zenfone 6. The manufacturer heeded criticism and officially confirmed that the 3.5mm audio jack is returning with the Asus Zenfone 8 series.
The source adds that the connector will be on the top of the smartphone, but it is not yet known if all three models will have it (Asus Zenfone 8 mini, Zenfone 8 and Zenfone 8 Pro). In addition to the audio jack, the Zenfone 8 will also have a front-facing camera embedded in the screen in the upper left corner. This indicates that the new line-up has ditched the pivoting camera design that was implemented in the previous two series.

The smartphones are expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 888 SoC and offer 1080p OLED displays with support for high refresh rates. The smallest model will be the Zenfone 8 mini, which will receive a 5.92-inch screen, a 4000 mAh battery and support for 30W fast charging.
Asus has announced that it will announce the Zenfone 8 series on May 12th.
