Variations on the theme or absolute novelties, the bags of the new season – that autumn that we already feel in the air – are many and can already be purchased.
Some are soft and cozy like pillows, perfect for a wardrobe cozy to pamper yourself with all winter – see Dior Dear in leather with Macrocannage stitching, the Prada Signals in padded nappa leather, Longchamp’s Brioche, Balmain’s Pillow, quilted nylon bags by Miu Miu, e la Baby Cush di By Far.
Others are geometric, with sharp, almost angular lines, and bring us back to the rigor required (sometimes) by the office dress code – this is the case of the new Distorted Bag by Acne Studios, and by Fendi First which admirably combines angles and sinuous lines.
The colors are warm, like those of nature in autumn, with bright or even electric notes, because – you know – it is precisely with accessories that you can continue to dare, in any season.
Some of the catwalks dominate re-editions. However, do not think of simple reworkings, because those we have seen on the parade are real transformations: iconic bags or bags from the archives of the fashion houses that, through new collaborations or reinterpretations in line with the cultural changes taking place, give life to new models.
This is the case of the Edith, must-have di Chloé, revisited and brought to the catwalk by Gabrieal Hearst together with 50 vintage Edith bags enriched with advanced materials from the production of the collection. The new it-bag fits perfectly into the spirit of the maison’s Fall / Winter 2021-22 collection, the most sustainable ever, four times more than the previous year.
Instead, the new one comes from a collaboration with Fornasetti Dauphine MM Cameo di Louis Vuitton, where the Maison’s iconic Monogram canvas is embellished with colorful cameos inspired by the coins of ancient Rome and Greece and reinterpreted in the inimitable style of the Italian artist. Finally, the mini version of the iconic plays on proportions and color Trifolio by Salvatore Ferragamo, decorated with the Gancini buckle and painted in bright shades.
As for absolute novelties – which however do not disregard a link with the past – we point out the 4G di Givenchy, introduced with the Fall21 season and now proposed in new colors for Fall / Winter. The new bag statement by creative director Matthew M. Williams takes its name from the emblem of the house and pays tribute to the love for symmetry of the founder Hubert de Givenchy. La Tabou di Celine, part of the collection The Great Classics Celine – Session 3, inspired by the archives of the 1980s, and the Mount Bag by Bottega Veneta, available in the model with Envelope shoulder strap or in the Bermuda version, by hand.
