The 99-year-old Prince Philip was released from the hospital after a month

THE Prince Philip, Queen Elizabeth’s 99-year-old husband was released from a London hospital where he was being treated, according to an eyewitness cited by Reuters.

The Duke of Edinburgh spent 28 nights in hospital, the longest period he has ever been hospitalized, according to the Daily Mail.

Queen Elizabeth’s husband was taken to King Edward VII Private Hospital in central London on 16 February after feeling unwell and sharing it with his doctor. Two weeks later he was transported to St Bartholomew Hospital also in London by ambulance, where on 3 March underwent heart surgery for a pre-existing condition. He then returned to the private hospital to continue his treatment.

Prince Philip turns 100 next June. He was born in 1921 in Greece, before his family was exiled from the country when he was an infant. His original title was “Prince Philip of Greece and Denmark”, but after his engagement to Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom he was anointed “Duke of Edinburgh”.
